ThijsDe afgelopen dagen veel geluisterd naar dit concert uit de Archive Series van Bruce Springsteen. Het laatste concert van The Reunion Tour, na dat Springsteen in 1989 de E Street Band ontsloeg kwamen ze in 1999 weer bij elkaar voor een nieuwe wereldtour. Het afsluitende deel van de tour bestond uit 10 uitverkochte avonden in Madison Square Garden, New York City. Het allerlaatste nummer van die avond was ‘Blood Brothers’. Een prachtig eerbetoon aan vriendschap dat ondanks de drukte en de dingen die gedaan moeten worden, vriendschap blijft bestaan. Het nummer verscheen eerder op ‘Greatest Hits’ uit 1995. Voor deze live versie schreef Springsteen nog een extra couplet (schuingedrukt). In deze prachtige versie zingt Springsteen dat couplet met een brok in zijn keel, hand in hand met zijn kameraden. Kippenvel!
