#Springsteen Songs: 57 Channels (And Nothin’ On)

Een nummer over alles hebben, veel geld, een mooie vriendin, de duurste auto’s, de nieuwste tv met alles er op en er aan. Maar toch is er een leegte en daar gaat dit nummer over. Het nummer ’57 Channels (And Nothin’ On) is het derde nummer van het album ‘Human Touch’ uit 1992. Naar mijn idee ook een van de zwakste van dit album. Op muzikaal gebied gebeurt er ook weinig. Het nummer is opgebouwd rondom een bassloopje waar af en toe wat percussie te horen is en een synthesizer. Springsteen speelde dit nummer voor het eerst in 1990 en na de tour in 1992 en 1993 is het nummer van de setlists verdwenen.

 

Wel is er een officiële videoclip voor gemaakt.

Little Steven heeft er later nog een remix van gemaakt naar aanleiding van de rellen in Los Angeles die in 1992 plaatsvonden. Hier lees je daar meer over.
