ThijsHet heeft even geduurd maar eindelijk is daar de opvolger op de plaat ‘American Band’ van de Drive-By Truckers. Op 31 januari 2020 verschijnt het album getiteld: ‘The Unraveling. Eerste single van de plaat is het nummer ‘Armageddon’s Back in Town’. Volgens verschillende persberichten gaat de band verder op de weg die ze met ‘American Band’ zijn ingeslagen. Patterson Hood vertelde tegen Rolling Stone over het nieuwe album:
“While a quick glance might imply that we’re picking up where 2016’s American Band left off, the differences are as telling as the similarities. If the last one was a warning shot hinting at a coming storm, this one was written in the wreckage and aftermath. I’ve always said that all of our records are political but I’ve also said that ‘politics is personal.’ With that in mind, this album is especially personal.”
Op 7 juni staat de band in Paradiso, Amsterdam. Kaarten gaan komende woensdag om 10 uur in de verkoop. Ik ben er zeker bij!
